Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!
I've been a fan of Kirkman'sThe Walking Dead season 3 dvdgraphic novel since a friend introduced me to it a few years ago. So after seeing the reveal trailer at this years comic con Frank Darabont's take on the series instantly became my most anticipated show of the year.I am happy to say that it does not disappoint. From the opening scene you know they're not going to pull any punches. The plot so far remains largely faithful to the original material while the newly added and well acted scenes contribute additional depth to even the most minor of characters. There's no doubt that Rick's awakening into a zombie apocalypse will draw comparisons to the opening of Danny Boyle's '28 days later' but there the similarity ends.
Cheap the walking dead dvd is reminiscent of George A. Romero's earlier work, from the shambling hordes of undead to the frightened and unstable survivors that often prove to be the greater threat. For those that have read the comic you'll be relieved to know that the series is definitely in good hands. For everyone else get ready for the greatest take on the genre since Dawn of the Dead, and remember, no one is safe.
